FinDatEx has launched a public consultation on the draft version of the Solvency II Tripartite Template (TPT) V8, inviting insurers, asset managers and other market participants to comment on the proposed changes ahead of its planned implementation in 2027.

The TPT is the industry-standard European data exchange template used by asset managers to provide insurers with portfolio data for Solvency II reporting and risk management.

The draft V8 template has been developed by the FinDatEx Solvency II Technical Working Group to reflect changes introduced by the Solvency II 2020 Review and recent regulatory simplification initiatives. Unlike previous updates, the focus of TPT V8 is on streamlining reporting rather than expanding disclosure requirements.

The most significant change from TPT V7 is the proposed removal of around 20 data points. The draft eliminates a range of fields covering areas such as third-currency market exposures, interest rate index identifiers, legacy issuer sector classifications, collateral indicators, accrued income, convertible bond-specific metrics and other data elements that FinDatEx believes are no longer required or can be simplified. The objective is to reduce the operational burden on data providers while preserving the information insurers need to meet their Solvency II reporting and risk management obligations.

Given the technical implications of the proposed revisions, FinDatEx is seeking feedback from market participants before finalising the template.

The consultation will run from 7 July 2026 until 4 September 2026. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments using the consultation feedback template and email their responses to slv@findatex.eu by the closing date.

Following the consultation, the FinDatEx Solvency II Technical Working Group will review the feedback received before validating the final TPT V8 by the end of September 2026. FinDatEx is encouraging firms to begin implementation in early January 2027, with mandatory adoption expected during the first quarter of 2027.

The draft TPT V8 and consultation materials are available on the FinDatEx website.
